Two towers, 758 rooms, and what we will not tell you

The Forum Tower opened in 1998 and the Augustus Tower in 2008. Here is what each one carries, and what we could not verify about either.

The hotel at Caesars Windsor holds 758 rooms in two towers that were built a decade apart. The Forum Tower came first, in 1998, with 389 rooms. The Augustus Tower followed in 2008, adding 369. Add those and you get the published total exactly, which is a small but reassuring sign that the figures are real rather than rounded marketing.

Two towers, one desk

We are not going to tell you which tower is better, because we have not slept in either and nobody publishes a room-by-room comparison we would trust. What we can tell you is what is attached to which. The spa — The Spa by Windsor Arms at Caesars Windsor — is in the Forum Tower. So is the indoor pool and whirlpool, on the second floor, with windows facing the Detroit skyline. If a swim with a view of another country's downtown is the thing that would make your trip, that is a Forum Tower detail.

You will also find a fitness centre with a sauna, free to registered hotel guests. That last phrase matters: some facilities at large resorts carry a charge for day visitors, and "free to registered hotel guests" is the published wording.

What we do not publish about the rooms

No rates. No room categories or suite names. No check-in or check-out times. No bed configurations, no floor plans, no square footage. None of that appeared in a source we could stand behind, and inventing plausible numbers for a hotel is exactly the failure mode this guide exists to avoid. Ask at the time of booking.

We also avoid the storey counts. Two sources describe the Forum Tower differently — one says twenty-two floors, another twenty-three — and since we cannot settle it, the honest description is simply "two towers".

Booking, and why we are not a booking site

There is no reservation form anywhere on this site and there never will be. We are an independent guide with no commercial relationship to the property, so sending you through us would help nobody. Two different toll-free numbers appear in public sources for this property and we could not determine which is current, so we print neither.

Practical points for an overnight stay

Your car sleeps free. Self-parking in the attached six-floor garage is free and available 24 hours; the entrance is at 257 Glengarry Avenue, Windsor, Ontario N9A 1P4. Valet is a paid alternative and costs registered hotel guests less than other visitors. The two options are compared on getting here.
Oversized vehicles and recreational vehicles are handled through the concierge desk rather than by simply driving into the garage. Arrange it in advance.
Under-19s cannot be on the gaming floor. If you are travelling with teenagers, ask at the front desk how to move between the lifts and the restaurants when you check in, rather than working it out in a crowd later.
You are near the border. If part of your party is crossing separately from Detroit, read the documents warning on getting here first.

A note on what a resort hotel is for. A property built above a gaming floor is designed so that leaving is optional. That is convenient and it is also the point. If you are staying two nights, it is worth deciding in advance which evening you will spend somewhere else in Windsor entirely.
